The Shorts Sunderland was also used as a transport flying boat during WW2. Some had their guns removed and others formed the basis of the Hythe, although not as grand as the Sandringham.
What if due to the shortage of parts for the engines a few had been converted to turboprops for commercial and military purposes.

I'm using a ready-made 1/72 Airfix Shorts Sunderland Mk.V which came without the two outer floats ,broken guns and propellers.
Some filler has been applied for the upper fuselage, bomb racks and rear tail. The new engines are from a four engined C-160.

PSR and a pair of floats but not from the Airfix or Revell kit, from the Be-6 model. Just about the fit the other one.

I was going to suggest stripping all that paint off but with all those raised panel lines you might as well just keep sanding. This will be an interesting bash!

It's slowly becoming an amphibious flying boat,  there's been a bit more PSR work done today.
