The Wooksta!

I've an aircraft on the go which is going in the early scheme (dark/med sea grey/nato green and white with the high demarcation line).  I was intending to do it with the Xtradecal sheet, but as that may be some months away, I'd rather try and finish it for next week.

I'm leaning towards the 617 option, as I've a grey GR4 that might end up in their markings.

The 617 Squadron one would be my first choice, proably followed by the 6 Squadron one with the AS.30's.

The Captain is enlightened, go for the AS30 option. You know it makes sense.

6 squadron with 4 x AS30s.

617squadron TSR2s will be ten a penny soon, whereas the 4 x AS30s will give yours a really unique look  :tank:

I'm for the AS30's because as Nev says it will look unique

Erm Wooks....

According to Joe the Missile fit for TSR-2 started with AS-30, then went to AS-33 and AS-34 before settling on AS-37 which became Martel. AS-33/34 is what became Kormorran as the French passed the design over to West Germany when they developed both the AS-37 Armat as the bigger heavier surface attack development from AS-30 and devised the AS-38 Exocet on new technology to superseed AS-30 for the anti-shipping role.

almost...
...the initial ASM. fit schemed for TSR.2 was to have been the Martin (Kongsberg) Bullpup, which was replaced by the Nord AS-30 before settling on OR.1168/AJ.168/AS-37 Martel (the TV. version was specifically developed for TSR.2.
According to a note in the PRO. files, the Nord AS-33/34 was also looked at for carriage on the type, and as Geoff rightly notes, is what became the Kormoran ASM.
There are a few other indiginous ASM. designs related to the TSR.2 too, but unfortunately none of those reached hardware stage !

cheers, joe

Hmm, that definitely suggests a Marineflieger TSR.2 with Komorans sitting on the ramp next to a Buccaneer S.51 in similar markings and loadout (S.51= SAAF s.50 plus bulged weapons bay as on RAF Bucc's in OTL.

Radish

Go for 617 with the 'winders and tanks.

Later models can have the fiddly bits for the other missiles.

For gods sake, don't wait....you'll have built another 4 by the time the Xtradecal sheet comes out anyway.

And also you'll need lots of markings for your F-111s anyway.

(With all this hype, I'd better build an F-111 or two, eh?)
