I was looking through sinodefense.com's forums, and found this in the aviation forum.  I seem to recall someone here doing a small F-23 conversion similar to this, but only remember seeing some "Under construction/post surgery" pics.

Yeah, most of the posters on that particular board have only a cursory understanding of how things really work.  You should see some their bizarre comments considering a Chinese aircraft carrier.

And that'd be the plane I remember!  I always liked the idea of a single engined F-23. Any progress on it?

What a strange site. All that rooting for the J-10. THey seem to forget that the J-8II took almost 20 years to achieve squadron service, and that for all that it was basically an Su-15...
