Bought it in Wolverhampton.  Now, why didn't  they put a Defiant on the shirt, eh?

oh, and here's my other B-36 project which got under way tonight...

no one seems to have noticed the other B-36 project I've got on the go...

you see, in 1950, with the Ruskies having all those long range missile/sub combos you need a very long range maritime patrol aircraft...

white & gull grey?

you know, i got to actually see the xc-99 at kelly AFB.

Yeah, I remember seeing it years ago while down there visiting friends from college.  This was over 3 decades ago and it didn't look too bad then.

Going to do the later version with the thimble radome for weather radar?

I've been thinking that the swept-wing version proposed, but with turboprops (T54's perhaps) would look interesting.

I'm doing the actual production version with the B-36 syle canopy on top of the fuselage & clamshell nose doors, did consider sweeping the wings but then decided to keep it a simple as possible, bearing in mind it'll ytake me forever to actually finish it anyway

Cool, I like that variant, too.  If you wanted to be even more different, do her with more windows and in airline markings from the 50s.  Might be interesting to scratchbuild a Lockheed Constitution, with turboprops instead of pistons, to show next to her.
