Captain Canada

Quotenow can we have a closer look at the nose art please

What he said !

Great job, Chris......what a looker ! Oh, and the plane's nice, too !

:P

Love the paintjob, and with those decals, it just looks right. I could see them Japanese crapping themselves at the sound of the mighty Typhoon overhead ! Sure would have helped things, I'd be guessing !

Now, I'd like to see a pic of it all dirtied up, in a jungle diorama !

Nice Job!  The ideas floating around here just amaze me.

That's quite a striking color scheme.  Very pretty.

I've been reading a little on Typhoons and Tempests lately.  Just wondering, does anyone have a pic of the tempest with the annular radiators 'round the nose instead of the big chin?  I have read that they did that once, and did some with radiators in the leading wing edges, but haven't seen either yet.

Great model, though, Chris.

There's one in the Crowood Typhoon, Tempest and Fury book and I think there's a 1/72 resin conversion set out there.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Not totaly my own idea. I think Myself and Martin H thought of it at the same time in Perth, when we were discussing the colour scheme of his CAC Corsair.

That's where the shows are so good, loads of ideas and people to bounce them off

According to Hannants' website, KORA does two different variations on the annular radiator Tempest.  Hmm, I wonder how that'd look on a Fury (land-based sib to a Sea Fury)?  Use the Sea Fury front end and the rest of the Tempest to do a Tempest II.

Radish

Love Tiffies and it's a nice idea.

In one of the Biggles novels, Algy flies a Typhoon in SE Asia (India I think) so many years ago i did a silver one (Monogram 1/48th....a belter of a kit!!) with black striping, SEAC roundels, and green "algae" on the tail. Broken now, but I know I have others planned:

SEAC in brown/green/medium sea grey, white striping, etc..
RAAF in overall Foliage Green
Soviet...standard grey/green with a "worn" whitewash finish
Italian Co-Belligerant AF....very worn, battered, etc..
USAAF 9th AF....non-standard two-tone green and neutral grey uppersurfaces, with neutral grey undersurfaces with fancy markings, nose art etc..

Looks like the Monogram kits (so easy to put together) are to take a bashing.
