Here we have a Grumman P-34A Wildcat serveing with the AVG's 3rd pursuit sqn out of Kumming.

Kit. Bog standard Acadamy Wildcat out of the box, with paint job and decals from Acadamy P-40 Warhawk.  Sits quite nicely with the P-52B Hellcat I did a few years ago.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Nicely surprising model :)
Did you know the USAF P-34 was different for JMNs? see http://home.att.net/~jbaugher1/p34.html and http://lsm.crt.state.la.us/aviation/wedellK.htm
(I prefer yours)
A shark mouth is surprising on a radial engine, are you the inventor of it or is there a source elsewhere?

Now that's a head turner! It looks perfectly natural too. Congratulations!

One to pose alongside my Nat Chinese P-40Q Martin. Nice simple idea as all the best are - might try it on a Buffalo. Intended for RAF but transferred to the AVG as the P-40's were. Got the Sky decals sheet.

You keep giving me inspiration - thanks mate

Chris

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Gary

What.... do you mean they didn't have any Wildcats in the AVG? But it looks so... so... like it belongs! It's truely believable in that scheme.

Hmmmmm, how about the Chinese Nationalist's?

Awww come on! It looks right!
Getting back into modeling

Looking good Martin, nicely done and it looks almost, (shall I say it , )  real?
