As the 'new' Hornet hasn't come off the drawing-boards as yet, it's purely speculation as to it's final appearance.
Here, an artist gives his views of the final design.
Glenn.

Model: L&S 1/144th F/A 18 'Hornet'
Modifications: well, it's 'butchered' into a Canard

PS sorry the aircraft is slightly out of focus, was getting used to the Dig camera at this point, it won't happen again!

Nice bird...  that would deserve to exist...
For the blurred picture, I see an explanation. The picture was not intended to be a picture of the plane but a picture of the bridge, taken by the window of an airliner, then very suddenly a secret interceptor (with no RAAF roundels) came to check what was this unknown airliner flying over the city which is forbidden (terrorists wanting to crash to kill?), and this fighter coming in a half second disturbed the souvenir photograph... No?

Woaaaa, that's cool. Wasn't the fuzzyness part of the stealth package? I heard it was to confuse the optically guided missles. ^_^

Now it the enemy invents cool guided missles we're screwed! :P

This is too good to merely be called a "Hornet" revision!
To me it looks like a very novel SF endo/exo-fighter.

Can you please provide a clearer shot of the model?  I'd really like to put it onto an interstellar background.

Very cool imagination you have, there!!!

A better view of this bird, sorry about the other shot.
I don't know what to call it, what do you like?

Pardon me for saying so, but it looks like someone copied the Rockwell XFV-12 to a larger configuration.  Cool, though.

A rear view, for anyone interested.

PS The only extra to the kit was the small change to the span, at the root.

I'd call it "freakin' fantastic!" mate.

You seem to have blessed with the "Eddie" vision.

Lucky sods, both of you!
