Gary

With exceptional participation in building and phenominal participation in voting (took an hour to sort out and double check) I am proud to announce the winners of the Trophe Twin Tailed Tribute Group Build.

In first place
Leigh's Marevlous Me-274

Second Place
Thorvic's Hoppen-good Hawker 1216

and Third Place
Aeroplane drivers Beautiful Vampire Bat.

I want to point out that the voting was tight and I did recheck the figures twice because it was so close. You participation in the build is greatly appreciated and I think it speaks volumes to this website and the people who are here.
So congrats to all

Winners, woul dyou please PM me your addresses so that your prizes can be forwarded to ya'll.

YOIKS! That'll teach me to do more than just check my e-mail notifications, I missed the voting thread.

Oh well, congratulations to everyone, and thanks to whoever came up with it, if it wasn't for the fun involved I might not have actually completed my third model of the year!  :P

Wow, Holy crap, I'm so honoured, really I'm touched. Thank you all so much this really is a big deal to me. The quality of the entries was as usual f....ng outstanding especially as scratchbuilding/kitbashing was really a requirement in this build. Everybody's models just looked "right" and that's the biggest compliment I'm capable of thinking of. Wish they were all on my shelf and I could claim them as my own.
Funny to think that less than a year ago I'd never tried scratchbuilding and had never dared to show one of my models to someone else. This is all a result of the talents of the other people here, the ideas I see that feed my imagination, the in process and finished products that have taught me how, and the genuine friendship, camaraderie and willingness to help from all you guys.
I wanna really thank Baz for something so simple that he said but was so true and profound

Once you cut up the styrene and commit to the idea with a little work and patience anything is possible. That may be true of life too.
Thank's again for the opportunity to have fun. This one is definately gonna get posted on ARC and maybe Hyperscale, that should blow some gaskets.

And lets all say a big thanks to Gary who once again put together a great group build and has been one of the great driving forces behind this motley community we call home.
Cheers mate   We'll get you that stiff drink.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

If you are talking to JMNs, remember to justify your Me 274 code, as not (completely) impossible...
QuoteYes, German aircraft were coded by the Air Ministry (RLM, for both civil and military) regardless of the manufacturer and regardless of the role (fighters, bombers etc.) all in the same 8- list for aircraft.
The 8-274 code was used for an Heinkel derivative of the 8-177 (He 177 --> He 274 --> French AAS 01A), but as the 162 code has been used for both Bf 162 then He 162 after cancellation of the former, you are 'allowed' to call Me 274 your baby: what-if... :)

Well done to all the winners and the participants and a great big thanks to Gary

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Congrats to all the winners, and to a deserved winner in Leigh

And a big thankyou to Gary for organising it :)

I just wanted to say a quick thanks to the folks who thought my model deserved to be in the top 3.  To me 3rd place among this crowd is quite an honor.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

As I received no news, I ask here: will I get the adress of the winner to send one of my book, which was included in the winner prize? And which book(s) doesn't he own already? Not all are available:
- Fantômes Fourchus: sold out, and available for free home-printing in translated English version "Forked Ghosts" (at http://cmeunier.chez-alice.fr/Free_EoFG_MV.htm )
- Supplement 1 to Forked Ghosts: available at the publisher, I may order one copy to be sent to the winner (or if a signed copy is preferred, I may order it for me, sign, then pay another shipping to send).
- The end of Forked Ghosts: available for free home-printing as above, while I have a few remaining copies, bound, I may send one.
- Virtual Mustangs (and Twin-Mustangs): available for free home-printing as above, no more bound copies that I own.
- Catamarans du Ciel: in French, very old and schematic, I have a few remaining copies, I may send one, I plan to put it in line in 2006 for free home-printing.
Leigh or Gary, could you tell me what to send, where?

Tophe

Dear Leigh answered that the prize was not the goal but would be welcome, whatever it may be.
Well, for my part, this will be a bound & signed copy of "The end of Forked Ghosts" + of "Catamarans du Ciel" + a full page print of my picture with the Me 274 Plan A & C...
And there will be the model (1/72 Heller Noratlas, Gary? who will send it?).
End of a nice show... thanks to all... :)
