Looking cool. Wouldn't it be kind of fuel-inefficient though?

Nope, shouldn't be. Those big high-aspect ratio wings give it tons of lift, it hops off the ground in a very short run, climbs like rocket. I would perhaps extend the fuselage a bit to accomodate more fuel for long-range overflights, but I like what I see so far!

I've got similar plans for an old Aurora CF-100, back story is already finished, just looking for time and room.

 Very nice T-tail F-16, different from JHM's F-16T
Just a question, would this U-16 still be supersonic or becoming subsonic?
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Eddie, are those U-2 wings?  I've got a U-2 sitting on the shelf that is just itching to donate wings to an F-16.  I loke the look!  Keep 'em coming............Mark

What ya gonna paint it as?  The standard black, or the old, yet more attractive aluminum?

Can't wait to see this one finished.  I'm slowly coming to really appreciate T-tails...  I'M SEEING THE LIGHT!!!

I liked your idea, so I "borrowed" it. ;)  B) I used a section out of a B-58 nuke for the added section.

mwf4nut,
Those are pieces of thick Evergreen sheet plastic that I cut myself.
Tophe,
I'm thinking it's gonna be subsonic, unless the thin atmosphere would allow supersonic flight with out ripping those big, fat wings off. :P Any engineers want to add to that? :) Thanks to all for the interest in this new endevour. B)

Cool by me Eddie! That's what this board is all about, sharing ideas and watching as they come to fruition.  ;)

Looking great Eddie - always one of those areas that intrigued me since i was a kid and found out that u-2 was really a starfighter....

spent many hours over the years doing plans for others - U-8 crusaders, U-7 corsairs, a U-5 tiger....

one of those too ratty, although i'm sure that yours would look at least million times better than mine would, if i ever built it.

Geez, Eddie: CALL me next time you post a new idea!  I've had my head buried in boring real life stuff and nearly missed this.

And it's a T-TAIL, too.

Ahhhhhh!!!!
