So... If you pronounce Wing as Ving, I was wrong, if you pronounce it as U-ing (with the U of bull), I was right.

OK, i did not think of it in that way

Beacause my native language is polish (which is quite similar to russian) normally I would pronounce Wing as [V]ing (provided that I speak no english of course ). After a few english lessons I pronounce ing.

In my book "The end of Forked Ghosts" is featured this drawing with a scale indicator , the span being 24.5 meters (80 ft). While I don't remember if this was a personal guess or using a text source...
