RP1

Greetings and salutations, fellow programs!

My first model (of recent years) complete!  Visual records available at:

http://photobucket.com/albums/y52/RP1/Aircraft/

The model is mountd on a GW flying base, with the tail wheel just touching the display surface.  Supposedly to achieve an action-packed stance, but really because it was easier than getting the model to balance on the stand.

And the backstory?  Errm.  The ABC (Advancing Blade Concept) is applied to an updated version of the AH-64, which is then exported to an unspecified Scandanavian customer, much to Kamov's annoyance.

TEEHEE! Great concept!

Now wheredja git that model? It looks just like one that my son got in a loot bag last year, if so I figure those things have to be ultra-cheap, under a dollar. Translation - lots of whiffing possibilities and spare parts! Unfortunately neither the box or the instructions held any hint as to the manufacturer.

The kit is by Revell.  It's an off-the-peg, as opposed to on-the-shelf type box.  the scale is 1 to whateverfitsinthebox, and there are several different kits.  Offhand, I can think of; AH-64, Mi-28, AH-64D, F-16, F-15, Tornado, Hindenburg (Zeppelin), the Airbus "Guppy". and F-117.  They cost £1.20 here, but that's from "Modelzone" (The pain, the pain!)

That's really nice RP1! I like that lime green camo job a lot! Excellent work for 1/whateverbutsmall scale.

As lovely as small: concentrated originality!
More than ever, I consider changing my favourite from 1/72 to 1/144, while the details-lovers prefer 1/48 or above, I understand.

Cool - A Kamov AH-64.
Someday, I'll even finish a model ...

That looks great all finished up.  Very cool idea.  This is one that we must see in 1/48, detailed out the nuts. :tank:

Oddly enough, it seems to work. Perhaps a design team from Kamov is hired by Sikorsky post Cold War...

At a pound and a quarter, one could do many, many what-ifs, and quickly.  :D I wonder they're around here; could do a couple RN Tornados.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

great!

must try and track some of these down myself - could be fun!
