Receiving the wonderful Manson X/V kit of R/S Models, I have been interested on the side of the box by the advertised Skoda-Kauba V5 kit, with a beautiful silhouette like a Daimler-Spitfire... I went to Hannants Web site to ask for it, typing simply Skoda/Aircraft as a quick minimum... Great result!
Most of all, 2 twin-boomers that I drew in 1997 but didn't know as scale models: Skoda-Kauba V6 and SL6 (or Ssixteen, Hannants misreading Sl like Slavian as S-one).
Have some of you built them? Please, show us, please...

Among other pearls of Skoda by RS models: the V5 beautiful fighter that I mentionned, the weird cousins with distant flaps (double-twin-boom somehow), a flying wing, a canard... Most of them were actual WW2 prototypes, not what-if dreams, but what-if they had entered service, been given to Japan or else?

My very favourite, apart of twin-boomers and related, is the V5, that would be so nice on a shelf between a Bf109 and a Spitfire... No?

On the Web, many RS pages are nice too http://www.rsmodels.cz/7209/7209.htm (He 162 glider), http://www.rsmodels.cz/7218/7218.htm (two-seat V1 glider), http://www.rsmodels.cz/7247/7247.htm (sharp nose Do 17)...
I had never heard of this He162S, Google found a profile of it too, at http://www.axishistory.com/fileadmin/user_...arvo-he162s.jpg

Why posting it here, in the twin-tail forum? 2 reasons, at least:
- twin-fin aircraft like the He162 (and F-18...) are sometimes included in the twin-tail family, we have talked of it in another topic.
- the profile above is also the profile of the 4-seater He162Z-9 glider that I am dreaming of: 2 fuselages holding tailplanes, with 3 fins (central+external)... what-if fast training of 3 pupils per teacher have been performed that way in 1945?

Quotethe SK V5 fighter (and that RS kit is lovely) and the P14 ramjet fighter.
Have you built it? Show us, show us, please... (or direct us to where you have posted a picture) :)

QuoteI haven't built it because I'm not building Luftwaffe
Is this a joke? :D
Hey, you are a what-if modeller here spoking to what-if modellers... ;)  Like you and several among us, I will not put a swastika   decal anymore on a model of mine :( , but you can (you will?) build a RAF Skoda V5 :P , to display close to a Japanese Spitfire ^_^  or else? No?

Trophe,

Once upon a time, at least six years ago, IPMS-Austria did a softback book on all the Skoda designs.  If I can find it, I'll be glad to scan my copy for you.  The illustrations should be good even if the book is in their language.

Cheers,
Evan

Thanks a very lot, Evan. Don't worry about the language/reading: I do not speak Czech nor German at all but I have a dictionary of both. And most of all, my HP scanner has a OCR tool to convert text Scan into Word text, that can be copied and pasted into BabelFish for automatic free (imperfect) translation. For German, at least. And I have visited Austria in November: people told me there are several dialects, but the main language is simply German.
So: thanks, your scans (if you find the booklet someday) may be very helpful.

Well, I've got the computer back from the shop, finally, and I think I know where, here, the booklet is.  The biggest problem I have is that I'm having to reload all the software and I've lost all my bookmarks in the process :(.  It'll be a bit before I'm completely back & running and ready to scan this.

I remember I drew the Skoda V5 in my book Virtual Mustangs from Justo Miranda's source ('Unknown! No.1' great book). If it was available as model kit, I would consider building a Zwilling...

By the way, dear Wooksta, I don't understand your problem: as you have many RAF models and a free what-if state of mind, this may be zero of these models wearing RAF colours, and you would have RAF decals to put on other models, no? Beware of the JMN infection ("do as it is"): preventive escape may be wise...
