Would it be considered too JMN-ish to point out that it should be VAH-25?  The Vigi users were always Heavy Attack squadrons.  That out of the way, 'tis a truly gorgeous piece of work and I salute you, sir.

I thought about that well after the fact but then decided against it after seeing some of the warloads that A-6 Intruders carried and they weren't called VAH squadrons. But that VFA-25 patch I posted later on has VAH-25 as I wanted to see how it would look, and I have to admit that "HEAVY ATKRON TWENTYFIVE" sounds pretty cool.

Coming in late on this thread so there's not a lot to say that wont just be re-runs but it's just too nice a build to say nothing. I think this is simply the best looking  1/144 build I have ever seen.

Bravo!

Ahhhh, yes, I forget about your question-

It's a tarmac that I painted on a sheet of gessoed masonite (available at most art supply stores) that I use for photo shots for my large diecast 1/400 jetliner collection:

The tarmac lines are a bit too thick for 1/400 scale to my eye, but it seems to do the job okay. I used those "formaline" graphics tapes as a mask to lay out the tarmac markings and then oversprayed the whole board with the colors I wanted to simulate the tarmac.

How did you get the grainy look of the tarmac vs. the smooth surface of the concrete? It's so realistic, you really had me fooled into thinking you'd used a photo of a real airfield...

It's really quite easy and used two cans of Testor's Model Master spray paint (though any matte spray paint brand of similar colors should work). I used Armor Sand and Gull Gray. I first sprayed one color, but didn't try to go for an even coat. Let it dry for a few minutes, then spray the other color, but again, don't try to go for an even and uniform coat. By alternating back and forth, you end up with a finely mottled gray/tan surface. I then sanded it down with fine grit sandpaper to smooth it out.

For the darker area where the taxiway is, that's just a light overspray of a darker gray color over the base concrete scheme already done. Again, sand it down with fine grit sandpaper for a smooth finish.

The seam lines in the concrete are nothing more than a very sharp lead pencil and a ruler.

Any weathering from tire scuff marks, soot, oil, etc. is done with a set of gray/black pastels and some cotton balls.

I can understand the "Heavy" designation.  I've seen a pic of an "A-5A" prototype with a fully-loaded MER on each wing hardpoint and I've also seen a pic of one buddy-refueling another.  Considering that they weigh in at half-again as much as a Phantom, I think it's an earned term.
