The JMN's Fokker 26 (Phantom but not F-4) is far less pretty, see http://www.dutch-aviation.nl/index5/Civil/...%20Phantom.html
Thanks to have revealed us the secret beauty...

The Rat

Another beauty Glenn! I can just picture that sitting on the ramp, with clamshell doors open at the rear...

Wow Glenn that is absolutely stunning in its simplicity and execution! You'd have no trouble gaslighting JMNs with that photoshop bit! What a beautiful twin-tailed whif!

Project #3

Given the title P-38Y, it was often referred to as 'WHY' by the USAAF. This 'push/pull' airplane was designed in late 1943 after the capture of a BV-141. Still keeping the twin engine fighter idea, this fighter proved to be very agile against Ta-152's.
Using an idea from Igor's "what if asymmetric" page, and an idea from Tophe, I designed this ship. As to the lack of tail/tailplane to the starboard side, the wing controls all split like a flying wing.
To stop the plane from 'ground looping' on take-off and landings, I added the canards forward of the wings' leading edge. The idea was that once the undercart was extended, the canard would deploy, to 15 degrees, forcing the nose to flatern out more. Also, the starboard landing gear is lower at the wheel retraction, so the oleo leg/wheel won't get caught up with the prop shaft.

Woah that's very cool!

And soooo perverse! Gotta love it!

NARSES2

That would look good posed with the Macchi asymetric proposal - great work Glen
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thank you so much... It's not a twin-boomer anymore, but it will become again, zwilling it gently with Photopaint... I will try. You are the true master of Photoshop, Glenn, but maybe I will succeed by myself.

^_^ Please, dear, shoot your P-38Y marvel according to an angle like below (on plain-colour background – or blue sky - if possible)... Please... to mirror-build 12 derivatives, with 2 to 6 engines... zero to three cockpits... :)

Glenn sent me this wonderful picture yesterday morning      :

:) We can see perfectly the canards (always extended, I had misread the first picture)and the starboard engine (push not push-pull on this axis, I had misread that too).
Now, with this great basis, I will photopaint derivatives, happily ^_^ ... Thanks a very lot Glenn  :)

Edit: done... see see http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index...80&#entry112922
Thanks again Glenn, providing so many dreams!
