Call me a Smug Slug, but I knew the kit would be in great demand.
I knew Steve Lord wouldn't budge on the 10,000.

I placed orders immediately on hearing of the release, with several sources.
Assuming I get what I ordered, (and, considering I ordered very early on, it's likely I will), I'm going to have lots of the beauties to play with.

Meanwhile, all you Nay-Sayers, Heretics and Unbelievers, will be weeping into your acrylics and re-considering the merits of that Merlin resin you've kept.

MWA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAA!

Despot tirade over.

I'm sure others will be in the same boat as me, TSR2 numbers-wise. If I get my lot, even after I've parcelled a couple off to buddies in the States, I might have one or two spare.

No promises, but I thought that this would be the ideal place to offer said beasties to the sad sap...sorry...there I go again...deserving modellers who are without Phoenix.

Are there going to be enough 'spares' amongst WIF? Forum Members, or are people just going to cancel their 'excess' orders?

Obviously, I won't be giving any spares away, but I'm not intending to make a profit...well...not much of one.

Is there anyone who could co-ordinate the Available Extras? A site Moderator, perhaps? Any suggestions, given that demand will be frenzied, on how to allocate those spares?

Or am I alone and all you others, with far more on order than you'll actually need, are planning on retiring on the eBay profits?

Spellbinder99

I am sure you will find homes for any extras Merlin. I have plans for all of my seven from Hannants, any I can secure from the Airfix clubs order will be jam on that.

I would suggest that anyone intending to "reap the whirlwind" on e-bay do so quickly as I believe that a second issue from a Japanese based company in co-operation with Airfix will be a definite possibility. If that happens, only those who MUST have an Airfix boxing will pay a premium for them.

Trust me when I say that any I decide I don't want will be sold at cost here on this board.

Cheers

First to place an order of anybody's unwanted! :P

Ollie

Second to place an order, eh!

Ollie

Good for you Lee.  ^_^

Put me down in third place for any unwanted TSR.2s.

Fourth! I need seven, remember - I have one at the mo, two more from Lee on the way, possibly one Airfix. If someone has three to spare, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Not joking.

But why? It makes no business sense! What's in it for Airfix to restrict demand to 10,000 if they can sell 20,000? It's not like it is particularly priced at a premium. If they only wanted to sell 10,000 why didn't they charge 40 quid for it?  Can Airfix really be that stupid?

That'll be the same Steve Lord who now runs Heller, having sold all of the Heller tools to Humbrol.
The same Steve Lord who thought the footballers were an "outstanding commercial success", because of the numbers taken up by retailers, as opposed to being sold to the public and forgetting the incentives offered to retailers to take the things.
Airfix listened to us ans went for the TSR2. Unfortunately, some of those in power didn't have our belief.

Airfix is the same company that delayed the Severn Class Lifeboat and Seaking set, in order to get Wallace & Gromit on the shelves.

Don't get me started.
You won't like me when I'm started!

*Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!*

I want a TSR2, really I do...but, in the grand scheme of things, it's likely going to be 1,497 in line to be built, and likely to get shoved down once another silly yet quick build idea comes along...so..therefore...I am NOT going to place any orders for the Sirfix kit...I'd rather they go to people who will BUILD the lil feckers, not hoard them against the apocalypse! :o
However, should one show up over here in the local shop...well...THEN I may just get it!

I'm probably set for one as I should have a back up source if hannants don't come through for me but in the same vien if anyone can spare the 16 Sqn markings off the Xtra decal sheet I'd be most obliged, I don't really wanna pay $14 for the markings for one plane. Ooops did I give away my plan for the GB?

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Put me down for a couple if you got 'em going spare.
