OK, so what ARE suitable TSR-2 Serials?

The point Wooksta made in the TSR-2 decal sheet thread strikes a chord with me in that I like even imaginary stuff to be plausible. In that vein, what are sutable TSR-2 serial numbers?

I assume that you can throw in the mix the serials allocated to the in production airframes at project termination, the proposed F-111K serials, some of the actual Phantom serial numbers and perhaps some of the early MRCA/ Tornado serial sets?

Surely that would go a long way towards the 350 projected RAF ones?

The RAAF ones I am just going to call A8 and not allocate any ex-RAF serials to them apart from A8-1 and A8-2 as early delivery overseas assembled airframes before GAF production ramped up.

So, can we see some sort of consolidated WIF list here?

I appreciate that you took the time to re-post this info Wooksta. It will be very helpfull to me, so thanks.

If you do determine some suitable ex-Buccaneer or Phantom serials, could you post those as well. As I am not a member of the TSR-2 SIG, being way out of country, I don't mind assembling the serials myself if I know what they are.

Very interesting analysis of the serial number issue.  I wonder what the actual numbers could have been for the license built version here in the states if there had been more cooperation and acceptance of the TSR2 as a viable weapons system in place of the F-111.  Since the American serial numbering system appears to be based on are generated by the last two digits of the contract year and a five or six digit number.

QuoteThorvic is currently looking into this as we're having some discussions about the possibility of a sheet published by and released ONLY through the TSR2 SIG.
Any chance of this happening?

I'm currently contemplating the horrible thought of scratching through the decal bank to cobble together enough numbers and letters to do an RAF serial number.  The underwing serials fill me with particular horror...
