Current models in-progress

I have extra time off this week and a shortened work week the next, I expect to get a lot done on these models in the pics.

By next week the Hortens might be ready for paint, the Dora is being whiffed and is being built as a bomber killer just so I can confuse some JMNs.

I will take more in-progress pics when I can, there are two more models that I have started that are not in these pictures and my work table is crowded at the moment. This week I am building/painting as many cockpits as I have time for and my next modeling session I plan to paint the inside of the wheel wells, landing gear doors, and gear legs (mostly RLM 02). I am trying to do my modeling in a production line style in an attempt to speed up production. My goal is to complete at least 12 airplanes this year and build one more hanger and some ground equipment too.

Just in passing, what paint do you use for RLM 66, the cockpit color? Your's looks just so realistic.

Allan,

I use Model Master RLM 66 but I ALWAYS add some black to darken it. As it is in the bottle it is too light. After I spray the RLM 66 I very lightly dry-brush some silver in the areas that you would expect to get scuffed and scratched. After the dry-brushing I very carefully use a silver colored pencil to chip and add light scratches in the high wear areas of the cockpit (pictures of the aircraft you are modeling is needed to do this).

Thanks for the tip. I've being using Vallejo with varying degrees of success, but I suppose RLM 74 with some silver scuffing might pass muster as well.
