What I need research on is the colour ID's for the JASDF 2 & 3 colour blue schemes that they use. And thats all I'm saying about build no.1.
I'm pretty sure they were pink. Yeah that's it Hot Barbie Pink with sparkles, absolutely.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Well I'm going to slowly work my way through 3 or 4 - 3 will be re-paints but one will involve some work with knife and plastic card - shock horror  :)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Chippie is well underway, chopped off the Gipsy cowling in readiness for my inbound Lycomings, pilots are getting painted and I've carved out the stand's hole.

Yes, I'm using the kit's stand. True Airfix! B)

LMAO......I'll leave the pink stuff to you , besides pink is just too wimpy for the Japanese AF. And the sparkles were found to reflect too much sunlight and were subsequently dropped   :P    :P

I painted the interiors on all four kits last night and earlier today I did some work on the wings of the P-40 I'm turning into a floatplane P-36 (filling in the gear wells and knocking off the leading-edge gear bumps). I don't usually work on more than one project at a time, so I'm finding this approach very refreshing.

Right now I'm procrastinating by hanging out here. Back to the bench!

It'll be interesting to see this mysterious build you're working on, Lee.

Everything except cowls, canopy and marking rockets has been cemented to the airframe. Can't do any more work on it until the cowls arrive from Texas, so I'll be doing some more work (ie, staring at helplessly) on the newly arrived TSR.2s.

Well seeing as I'm in charge of this by default I'll refer this back to your original rules Lee seeing as you were the one who originally suggested the whole idea.
I've not figured out how to quote from one thread to another so I just copied and pasted one of your posts

"1: Any Airfix kit is eligable and available for use. That means ships, cars, etc and any other kit issued under the Airfix label. Which means a PM Me 328. However, in those cases the Airfix box should be photographed with the model.

2: Base kit MUST be released by Airfix under their label. Any number of aftermarket parts, decals or bits scrounged from elsewhere can be used but the base kit must be an Airfix one.

3: Model must be completed as a wif. Obviously.

4: Models submitted for previous group builds are ineligable. This eliminates all the TSRs built for that particular group build."

I would think seeing as the casts are based on Airfix parts, and the Model as a whole is based on an Airfix subject I'm OK with it.
In principle there's not much difference between casting bits from resin and chopping big bits out and replacing them with sheet styrene.

So in my role as officiator I think that'll be OK, anyone got any problems with that or thinks it's unfair PM. me!

P.S. So what's it gonna be? A Phantom?

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Okay, I've made a snap decision.

My new Airfix 07004 will be my third entry in this GB. Watch soon for the beginning of the build! And if you have ANY spare RNZAF decals, please contact me. B)

UPDATE: Progress on the FAC Chimpunk and the "other" plane is coming along quite nicely, thank you. Progress pics before the day is out. And I'll be unveiling the "other" plane sometime next week. Watch This Space.

Courtesy of the great Phil P, I'm adding an entry, the 1/72 Airfix Devastator which arrived yesterday from him! I'm thinking I'll try to graft the leftover Stuka engine on to it, but I haven't had a chance to do the initial test-fitting yet.

This makes two down:

P-36F SurfHawk Floatplane Fighter

A-13 Strike Shrike

And three to go:

Arado 196

Me-109/Avro 504

Devastator

Stay tuned!

Radish

Might be "in" on this.

I have an Airfix 1/48th Spitfire 26 in Israeli markings already done....my Lithuanian one got binned I think.

Otherwise,....got some ideas!

Haven't the time to read seven pages of the Rules thread at the mo, so I'll do that tomorrow, but if it's not too late to enter this, then count me in? I've got something that'd fit the bill perfectly (if I can do it)  B)
