Well I started my vac last night. This is my first vac kit and "challenging" would be a good way to put it. Still, it's good to do something completely different, far removed from what I usually build. To demonstrate just how far removed, I'll let on that this one will not have spats nor a propellor.

Oh, and it will have missiles.

Stay tuned...

No spats, no propeller...
Quick, someone call a doctor, Brian is running a fever.
Hurry, this could be fatal, he may have caught, jetenginitus.

Ok, I am intriqued as to what vac could drag you away from spats.

You're right phil, I haven't been feeling myself lately. Maybe I need to take a sick day *cough* *cough*. ;)

Not only is this build spat-less and prop-less, but it has a T-tail too. I think I've got a fever.

The kit is a Sukhoi Su-5 which was a mixed prop-jet propulsion, inlined engined Russian fighter post-W.W. II. If you look at the pic, the same idea might hit you that hit me.

P.S. My next project will definately be from the "Golden Era".

Speedboat? Ice cream van? Horse trailer? Industrial lathe? Combined can opener and tea maker?

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

I've got this little beastie all glued together and the lower sections are painted and I've got the canopy painted and the first color on the uppers. I'm hoping to have this one completed by the end of the week if not sooner.

Figures I'd get this one done while the GB mod is out of town for the week.

P.S. I got the second color and anti-glare panel done today. Next it's decals!

Out of town and completely out of touch, too - in my absence, I hereby appoint Brian Acting Moderator. At ease, everyone.

My best wishes to you for the build Bri, I know you'll knock up a stunner!

And make a cool kit too ;)  :P !

Well, that is nice. Hoping that you will finish that early and successful.
