South Vietnamese Rafale

Here's a South Vietnamese Rafale A.  I figure the French got involved heavily in the Vietnam War, and a situation similar to Korea resulted, ie, Communist North, Western Allied South.

I figure France found a willing buyer of the Rafale in the South Vietnamese, seeing as how they helped keep the Communists to the north.

This is a Heller 1/72 Rafale A, repainted in an updated (at least for me) SEA scheme.  They ditched the brown and otherwise overall green scheme for something that's better for air combat, yet still would allow for some sort of low-level activity.  Except for the checkerboard covering the spine, that is.

The decals are from some ancient Ertl F-5 set (I think).  One of the South Vietnam flags on the tail disintegrated as I was taking the picture, so all pics are of the side that still has the flag.

You're doing it again ain't you Anthony, posting a whole bunch of glorious planes that have been wonderfully wiffed just to leave us sobbing into our beer.  :P  :P  :P  :P

Seriously though, that is an awsome looking Rafale. Bloody well done sir.

Holy moley Anthony! I thought I was fairly productive until I started seeing your posts! Man you must have a display area the size of the Silver Dome! Nice Rafale! I like your updating of SEA camo very much.

Ration?  He don't know me very well, do he?

This was just a mini-post blitz to get the rust off.  I'll have a butt-load of Airfix stuff for that GB by the end of the month (probably).  Now THAT will be a true posting blitz!

Brian, believe it or not, all these things are in drawers and boxes until after the move.  I'd love to have a display area up, but that's gotta wait for a little while.
