Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. :)

I'm losing steam quickly on this so I've GOT to get it done fast. Anyway, here is the last update before I finish (hopefully this week). I'm pretty happy w/ the way the exhaust panels turned out (are they a bit long?). Needed to double-decal the stars & bars (my homemade decals suck). Also, I covered the "S"s w/ white versions which, IMHO, improves visibility. A bit of weathering, a dull coat (maybe gloss?) and she should be done!

Someday, I'll even finish a model ...

One of my prof's at the art school said " a painting is never finished, it can only be gracefully retired."
Yep, when you start to lose the 'yeehaa', it's time to call it good.  And that sucker looks mighty good !

I admire anyone who can pull off NMF and that one is special. Great stuff

Wow, love the planning phase right through.

Gotta complete her mate, she's a beauty.
Getting back into modeling

Svaz

FINALLY! Here she is my third completed model in the 4 years since I've gotten back into the hobby. Can you believe I didn't notice that I'd knocked off the pitot until I was just about to post this?

I'd like to thank everyone for the kind comments, encouragement, and inspiration from your own whifs.

So, without further ado (about nothing, ha!) here is the finished product:

The Ta-190US P-42 Hammer, circa 1944.

That is a gorgeous looking plane!   Is that silver hand or airbrushed? I'm doing a bare-metal P-38 and I've never done one before, people keep telling me that handbrushing it is really hard to make look good!

Three models in 4 years? Maybe someone IS slower than me! I'm on 1 in 2 years but there's a few in the production line. Heh

The Cat.

Svaz

airbrushed, sorry. Although for generic 'silver' in a generic rattlecan (decanted into my Paasche), it didn't come out too bad I think.

Waaay cool Svaz! That's one's a real eye-catcher! If you took it to a show you'd get lots of double-takes and interesting comments I'm sure! I really like the look of this bird in NMF and U.S. markings! I wouldn't worry about your production. If they all come out this nice, it's worth the wait!
