OK, its been a long time since i posted some finished models, but just for starters, here's something ive been working on in my spare time.

the F/A-26 was designed by Lockheed and Northrop as a new generation fighter jet / agressor aircraft for the USAF. it was the first "off the shelf" agressor for the air force.

the aircraft was presented to the public in 2016, and was northrop's awser to produce a low cost, high tech fighter to export to countries witch could not afford the F-35 or typhoon. By 2024, over 2000 have been build or ordered for the air forces of Canada, Brasil, Kenia, Botswana, Bolivia, Spain, Finland and Thailand.

the model:

the airframe was a revell 1/200 SR-71, the horizontal tailfins from a 144th F-18,
the verical tail of an F-16 and the canopy of a 1/100 F-14.

the ventral tailfins are from the SR-71 kit, while the intake is a modified and cut up external feul tank, left over from a 1/72 F-15 kit. the FSW's are the tailplanes of a 144th DC-9 mounted backwards and finaly, the canards on intake are from a 144th gripen.

oh yeah, and the rocket pods are from a 144th SHAR frs1 kit.

painted in a USAF agressor color sheme

so you see, there's a bit of everything in it

-all kinds of things.

Very nice, but does canada have a very low defence budget? (they cant afford JSF or EF2000, or is it just whiff?)

Very cool looking fighter!!!  the nose/canopy arrangement reminds me of the new MiG AT trainer.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

SWEEEEEEET! You may have a bit of everything, but the whole is more than the sum of its parts.
