hi all
here an idea to paint the Su vehicle...
its a Su122 from dragon which is painted by hand in a summer camo type just out of my hand...or has anyone a good picture which shows any interesting russian camo type?
the paint was from the spray can and the rest are model color acrylic paint dilluted and brushed .
the other is a M3 in soviet markings which will have a 14.5 mm weapon as a recon vehicle.the wheels are resin casted pieces from the M3 half track and from a cheap toy car.
regards!

Peter
ps.the 1/48 kits are casted and will be sended to me in the next days!

and this is the next project....
IS-2m5
the russians copied the panther turret .something bigger for the bigger weapon (100mmBS-3) and uparmoured because the coming fights in japan with weapons firing from the closest ranges it was from very interesting design.
the deep wading system will be included and some interesting details too  -_-
the kit is the zviezda isu-152 kit which was very cheap here...

hope you like it

Looks great.

Can you give us a step by step on the build so that we can get some ideas on how you weave your magic?!

Recently got back into AFV modelling in a big way.

There seems to be a VERY limited number of camo schemes for Soviet armour - olive green, tractor green, olive green & earth brown or all of the above with whitewash !....... HOWEVER, this is What-If Land, right ?

Sooooooo, why not paint it in a 'prototype' of the three-tone schemes used by the Soviets in Afghanistan (and up to todaY).

Kuril Islands Scheme #1:
Red-brown/Greenish grey/Sand-brown in a jagged splinter-type pattern.

Kuril Islands Scheme #2:
Simplified version of above with same colours in broad soft-edged bands.

Japanese Homeland Scheme #1
Red-brown/Light grass green/Olive green, a hard edged camo similar to (very) late war Hetzers/Panther G's etc in the Battle for Berlin.

Japanese Homeland Scheme #2
Overall Light grass green with Dark grey & sand-brown 'bamboo sticks' (daubed lines on the hull sides to imitate tall bamboo, difficult to describe !)

Japanese 'Final Assault' scheme #1
Any of the above schemes incorporating a huge sharks mouth on the glascis plate/transmission cover and/or a massive red star on the turret roof for aircraft ID.

Just some thoughts.

You could always do one that was sent to the Mideast to support the Egyptions or Syrians.
