Eddie that is one of the most amazing feats of modelling I've ever seen!
It beats anything I've ever done hands down!

You are a master of the craft sir.

Nice work, Eddie. Are you going to tackle one of the B-1s from DB's books next?

Thank you very much for the kind words. You're making me blush. ;)  :)

Thank you. :)  No Bones in the near future, but I will be attempting the Dreamstar( from Day of the Cheetah) as soon as I can round up the parts for an aircraft that only exist in print. Lots of artistic freedom allowed. :) I'm thinking of modifying a F-22 with a F-5 nose and what ever else I can dream up. In the book, the thing weights 100k!! Gotta try to make it look that heavy.  <_< One day soon.....

The North Olympic Peninsula Modelers Society held their first contest on 06/03/2006 and I was fortunate enough to attend the event and meet up with a lot of folks that I have not seen in a while.

Among the entries was a 1/144th scale model of the EB-52 that was built by Ross Whittaker (rossman1@comcast.net) from the local IPMS Chapter in Vancouver, Washington (and Portland, Oregon).

The following links are for the four individual images of the model.  Warning!  These are large image files so I did not attempt to try and link them directly to this thread.
The details on the engines are what first caught my eye.  Ross used some very fine mesh screen to create the stealth intake covers.

Congratulations to Ross
I especially love the Concorde(-like?) nose matched with the elegant swept wing...

Great job Ross! And when is he planning on joining us?

What an amazing job! Without insulting either Eddie or myself, that is *JUST* how I imagined Old Dog to look.

If only someone could perfect the black which appears to be blacker than black.

Ross has got one beautiful piece of work, there.  The only thing that bothers me is the inlets, IMHO, there are better ways of screening the inlet that don't cost you as much in inlet efficiency.

I know what you mean, after doing 2 OD B-1s, black starts to look kinda gray-ish around the 4 or 5th coat. Adding flat/dullcoate doesnt help either.

In a previous lifetime (IE before Katrina), about 7-8 yrs ago a modeller/model dealer from Pensacola did one up using the AMT kit (big suka too!), depicting it from Fatal Terrain (with the big CFM-56 hi bypass engines). B-E-A-Utiful job, must dig the pics out and scan them when I get on break next.

Love those Uberfortresses!  For a great scale effect, you can do panels in two tones of black, one with some blue added to it, one with some dark brown...it lends some depth to the thing, as well as making it look "worn in"...or is that "rode hard and left wet?" ?????  :D

  Nice looking conversions, all...wow.
