Everyone, I'd like you to meet Huey! He's a little Droid, from an old movie. I started off with a 1/5th template, (which I'll build along with this one) and constructed it with this full size one. Mine is made from 3mm MDF with 10mm square as reo behind every join. (unlike the movie models that were made from fibreglass) 'He' needs just a bit more sanding to round off the 'squareness', and then I'll be able to start the outside panels.
I've been at it for 2 years now, and with the 'fun' bits to come in next, the next 12 months can't come quick enough!

From Silent Running!  How cute!  I always thought it would be nice to have a couple of those to play cards with.

The Rat

I always loved those little guys! The movie had glaring scientific flaws aplenty, but they gave it a charming aspect that was hard to resist.

If you get the urge to make a circular pool table next, make 2 and I'll buy one!  ^_^

Ah, he beat me to it!  Don't you have to work today, Brian?!

I work a late shift, unless I'm lucky enough to send the 'droids in my place.
