Engine-wise, there is also the option of having the alternate-history Avro Canada do a few more Orenda Lanc conversions. It was late-Forties tech...



although reliability-wise sticking with Merlins might be a better bet (and easier on the wallet too).

As far as bracing, why not just weld the doors shut, brace on the inside and waterproof? Best use of the available space.

now that would get the JMN's howling in real pain. Nice idea thou, ex french lanc GR's while they wait for the Altantics would be feasable

Back to the bulged doors....does anyone remember the resin aftermarket kit made for the 1/48 AMT F-7F Firebomber?   Would a bulged bay like that tank be too big for a Lanc?  


EDSG/SKY=Beauty especially in a streamlined, debarbed Lanc.    Perhaps a MP (thanks guys) Lanc would look right.
