I found a new airplane.  New to me, at any rate:

Fleet F60K Fort

I was following links from the USAF Museum website (BTW, has anyone else noticed that they pulled all the images from the archive galleries  :( ), and I found myself on the Canadian Warplane Heritage site (or whatever it's called).  I bounced around the various sections, until I happened across this airplane, which I had never heard of before.  It was apparently intended to be the poor man's Harvard, but was apparently too forgiving an airplane.

Now, in the recent past, I have been introduced to the glories of making what if subjects from various prop designs (I'm primarily a jet man, myself), with all the nifty period bits that can be included.  I took one look at this thing, and thought, "It needs spats and a turret".  The Canadians already took me halfway there:

Naturally, this airplane does not appear to have been kitted by anyone.  Now I'm looking at the drawing, trying to envisions suitable donor kits.  Suggestions?

The Canadian Warplane Heritage has one in flying condition, I've watched it perform a few times. Bit of a heart stopping show though, as she was known as a real bear to fly, poor performance all round. Has just enough pudgy cuteness to prevent it from being downright ugly, and that funky canopy arrangement sure makes you look twice!  ^_^
