The latest (and last for now) to roll off the Ghostworks line, the FB-19 Scarab medium range attack A/C.
2-seater, although you cant tell, the FB-19 is meant to replace all remaining FB-111As and FB-12 blackbirds. Powered by 2 PW F100s w/stage one reheat, this is SACs answer to the F-117.

I started w/a 72nd Testors F-19, opted for the 2-seat but without mounting that buglike bubble canopy. Did some playing around w/t kit, ended up remounting the stock rudders as wings, dredged uo a pair of 1/100 F-14 verts, added a 48th F-5E nose (Ev this is why your getting that conversion set  ;) ), and did some MAJOR plastic surgery on the front end (this is why it took me over 2 years to get her done up :( ). I got to work w/sheet and stick type evergreen, trying to build a stealthy forward section to blend the nose in.

Nicely done.  You've blended all the parts together really well.  A nice take on the Wobblin Goblin.
The Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah, the Men's department.

The FB-19 can hold internaly up to 2 B83 tactical nukes, 1 AGM-69B SRAM or 2 2000lb PGMs. Externally theres 8 attatchment points for either 4 ALCM, 6 SRAM or 4 SRAM and 2 droptanks. All external armament is coated w/special RAM paint to reduce RCS. Primary Mission is to take out forward/coastal radar and C&C bunkers. Primarly based w/t 4337th wing at Beal AFB, detatchments were based at Guam, Okinawa (with nuke components only) and Turkey to help pave the way should SIOP have to be implemented. After the wall came down the FB-19 stayed on for a little while, but then joined so many other Cold Warriors in the desert, with the last bird withdrawn in early '94. The Recce & 2 seat trainer version remained in service untill '98. Many of the ex-SACcers in ACC would have rather seen the F-117 be retired, but it was not so.

SRAMs are from the 72nd B-2 kit, note the FLIR/Laser desig. window up in the nose.

This concludes my "One sprue at a time" tour, due to having a roomate again I'm leaving the modellin stuff at homeplate, so it looks like I'll be back w/plastic in mid-Nov.

Nice!  Not understanding the November hiatus-due-to-roommate bit, though.

Cantcha sneak in just a couple of new ones in the meanwhile??   :o

Pretty sharp-looking, Shas!

But if were "SAC's Black Bandit," shouldn't it, ya know, be black all over?   :P

I picked up a 1/48 that's going to get a similar treatment (ie, made into a light, long-range bomber), albeit scale-o-ramaed into 1/72, as well as one of those Monogram F-19 things.

Now, I just need a spare F-111 cockpit and glass.

I have a similar idea for one of my mono 48 F-19s, but as a 144th VVS bomber...

Nice whatif!
My F-19 kit was first changed into a X-prize shuttle, then ended as a Neuron UCAV :).
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Great work, Shas! Truly a masterstroke at how you blended in the nose on that kit! Here's to hoping your new room-mate doesn't impede your building too much!

THAT, SIR, is a Work of ART! And I still donr have it perfected (IPMS will never see this kit), Digiphotog coveres a mulititude of sins. Fortunatle the next 2 (2-seat trainer and single seat recce) wont need that much plastic surgery.

We'll see how it goes, he's from Texas (God help us all!), and I might end up back working on the real deals again.
