Sorry for the, well, I dunno what you'd call that kind of wording, but you know.

Anyways.

Started last night, keeping a building log as I go through this to show you guys how EASY a vac can be.......admittedly a 1:48 Yak-3 monoplane, but still!

For me, the best way to work on separating a vac is on a kitchen chopping board, on your lap, in front of your telly.

And with someone with a camera handy to get some candids.

Just over 90min of work, interspersed with tea- and Milo-making, resulted in this progress:

Today I'm not sure what I'll be doing, as I may attempt covering the P-40R, but I'll let you know.

See you all soon!

fold the wings!!!!fold the wings!!!!! :D
I buyed a jak9 for this project...but no idea to make wings able to bring such an aircraft to a carrier with a chance to survive for the pilot.....
are you on this picture????so young????oh my good...Im a dinozaur!!!!!

regards....

Ollie

Neat-o, Zac-o!

Are there any bits in the kit for the wheels, propeller, etc...

Wow looking good Zac-o-matic! Your skill and speed here are very impressive! I'm thrilled to see you building another vac and at the prospect at having another entry in this GB!

Go, Zac, go!

Thanks guys.

Bri - your enthusiasm is humbling. You're like me on Prozac! At Disneyland! Getting laid! Ah, Friends, such a treasure trove of hilarity.

Peter - no, I'm sorry. BUT, I still don't know how this will be finished.....

Ollie - yes. White metal prop, exhaust stubs, undercarriage legs and wheels.

hey, looking good Zacster.

I still daren't try a vac tho....

Lookin' good Zac! glad to see you're still in the game. Tell me, just how easy are vacuforms?  ;)   It looks like I'd end up using the knife to cut down an artery.....

Zac, come in Zac...do you read me, Zac?

How's it shaping up?

Wow Zac, brave man, to be cutting parts like that (on a board in your lap). One twitch...

(Seriously. Knife slips aren't pretty, especially with those 'razor blade' hobby knives.)

Hello? You rang, m'lord? I was distracted by some great news (I'M GONNA SEE A MK.V SPIT NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and my balsa P-40R, so I'll try and get back into the Vac Yak on my next day off.

Sigh. Sand sand sand sand. I haven't gone near it since cutting out the components all that time ago. I'm a terrible procrastinator..........or a really, really good one.........sheesh, I don't know.........
