Here are a few more pics I took this evening.  More of the same, but the pics are a bit better I think.

The paint is a bit thick in spots, since I didnt strip the old paint.  Since the build was done I put a bit more time into details like the seat, HUD, RBF flags, intake FOD guards, and a helmet to hang on the edge of the cockpit.

I had some pre-printed paper RBF tags, but they just seem so out of scale.  I wanted something that looked more like a streamer, so I painted some clear decal film red and cut it into strips.  Obviously having strips of decal hangin off makes it pretty delicate, so I'll have to see how well it holds up on the shelf.

The helmet is from a Monogram pilot figure, head cut off and hollowed out with a Dremel (yuck!).  The mask is Milliput and the O2 hose is fins solder with hair-thin stretched sprue coiled around.

Anyway, thanks for the comments guys-here are a few more pics.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I haven't read any of what the rest of the lads have written yet, but I'm guessing that they say something like:

"Wow..."

"Great model, Nick..."

"Cannot believe the it's the same model..."

etc, etc. All I can add is this, Wow, that is one great model, Nick, I cannot believe it's the same model. ;)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Holy Moses! This has got to be the greatest and most stunning restoration job of all time AD! Absolutely magnificent and accompanied by a great backstory to boot! I'm beyond impressed! B)
