Project AFC: Yak-3M ZK-YAK.

I won't bother about any blurb, for now I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

I;m trying to follow the original's paint scheme as closely as possible, right down to the red cushions in the cockpit. Red? I know.............

Here's my 1:72 version of the late Tom Middleton with a pic of the great man flying the Yak. I tried to get them exactly the same, right down to the same microphone.

Is GREAT DAY for Motherland! Our famous Yakovlev fighters are being assembled with good old fashioned Soviet know-how, right down to our clever building jigs!

Pre-paint test flight.

More as it happens. And yes, I know doing the red/gold writing on the sides will be hell............

Looking great, Zac! Your work on that pilot is outstanding! I'll be anxiously awaiting your next update!

Yep! Gorgeous Yak Zac (lot of fun with the -ac words, remind me Mars attack and the martians aaaaak aaaaaaaaak!!!
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Look behind you!

Same here Ed! Great on a gorgeously beautiful day. It was the kinda day yesterday where a typical Kiwi modeller could be spotted, hard at work:

B) All the essentials for a successful and fun days' modelling: glass of Coke, minimal clothing, nice easy model and your iPod nano (tucked into your boxers cos they dont have pockets!) blasting your favourite tunes! Many thanks to Ms K5054NZ for spotting that Tamiya Medium Blue is a nice match for the "Dark Grey" ZK-YAK wore.

It's summer in NZ those days! Lucky guy here's its cold

nothing better than having your girlfriend at your side, both working on models. We have some hours of work last week on the attic Stephanie and I.
She was building its Traction 15CV, I was painting my Bombcorde...
Lovely moments indeed

Some things I need to raise with you:

1. You should be charged with ryhmes against humanity for the title...and

2. Is that MP3 player in your pants because you like the thrumming base line?

Other than that I dig the model!
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Ollie

Aaaaaaaaaaahhh!!

That's very scary Zac!

:o

See Lana's been cutting your hair again, eh, Zac?

Meanwhile, I'm sitting here watching some pretty serious snow flurries.  Time to break out the Chrimbo tunes early this year.

Blecch!   <_<
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.
