Hi

I've just started my first model in about 18yrs and have gone straight in for a awsome Whiff, one problem i need some exocet missiles or sea eagles. around 8 would be ideal.
I can only find the odd 2 in old us/nato weapons packs on Ebay, 1:72 scale if anyone can help

Thxs

Well here my technic to have this kind of spares.
Heller has a model of the Super Etendard in 1/72 scale (reference is 80360), fitted with one Exocet. What you can do is sending them a letter asking for the exocet. Here's the adress :
Heller Flash Service
BP5
61160 Trun
France
I'll check the catalogue to see if there's other models with exocets at that scale (not sure!)
You don't need the numero of the spare, and it's free... the limit is you can ask just one!
Other solution is asking on the "Swap shop" here in this forum. The guys here are very nice, and they surely send you some exocets they have in the spare box...

cheers

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Considering that Heller is, for all intents and purposes, out of business, I wouldn't bother.  I doubt that in the middle of the court proceedings anyone is going to take time to send spare parts out.  Especially so since they've made their entire staff redundant (aka fired them).

Well, I thought about that, too. but aprently well it is not the case. I'm still asking them spares, and well I receive it. I made that two weeks ago, and received the box last week, as usual. I send another order some days ago, and I wait it (time will tell, but I'm quite sure to receive it)
Honestly I think that the firm is not dead yet in fact they have 6 more months to save it. This mean that the firm can't disapear until 21 January 2007 (21 July 2006+ 6 months).
during this time, the activity keep on, but at very slow pace... we can say that the firm is agonising, but as not dead yet... :(

I ask them for some spare last week, and three days later, I received them!!
In fact, they even send me half a Rafale M model!! (half the fuselage and wings, all the missiles and tanks and pylons, the exhausts, main and front landing gears and even the canards!!! That's more than I exepted from them!!)

As Archie said, you could ask to Heller in a single letter a Exocet missile from the Super Etendard or even 2 Exocet, if you tell that you've got 2 models.
Their is also another model that had the Exocet missile: the "Super Puma Exocet" (reference is 80368). This kit has two missiles, so you could have two other Exocet from Heller using this kit...

You're lucky guy, Pollux! I have to wait 8 days
There's something unlogical in that... Trun is aparently somewhere near  the Normandy, so I'm - theorically- closer from the Heller plant than you ????!!!!!    :dum:

I see you assimilate my method perfectly :) Now we have to give this tip to all the guys here
Well what we can do is adding cheer words for the employers of Heller - add "courage" at the end of the letter...  :(

Everybody asking for free parts: That why they are in troubles
Will die without understanding this world.

 Non monsieur! I thought about that, too and have some remords.

It's just the opposite problem : they are stupid enough to send the spares for free, without taking care of the reasons.

Just try that with Revell!!!! You want Revell spares ? ok, you need to send them the broken spare, and the reference of the box you bought (because they want to trace back the defficiencies of their models...).
It's more annoying for the guy like me (Hmm I want spare eeerh well not to repare my model :P ) but in the long term... well Revell seems to be in a good shape, when Heller is now slowly sinking...

In fact, sending free spares is a large part of their commercial policy. And believe me, most of the customers don't even think about asking for spares!!

But for my part, I think they are stupid some points: they send the spares on big boxes with Colissimo (a fast postal service which is far more expensve than just send the spares in the standard way). Personnaly, I don't care about having my spares in 3 days or 8, so why did they spend more money in order to send them so fast??

I calculate: if I ask them 3 times some spares, it will cost them the price of an entire model, if they always use Colissimo!!

That's why tomorrow I will try something else: asking them not less than 25 different spares and 3 different decal sheets from 5 differents models in a single letter!!!

Les paris sont ouverts!!

Wouahou!!! Never try to ask them so much... Hmmm I think it must be possible to have a whole kit gratis, Pollux! You just have to ask the spares in 3 or 4 different letters   !!!!

Ididn't know that the "free spare" was part of their logic, but I like the idea. Now that's a kind of "socialist modelling". Spares for all!!!

Italeri aint bad, but you have to email them directly, then they pass it on to Testors, who sends the parts.
