I'm thinking about getting hypnotized as I seem to have a serious problem of not finishing a kit before starting the next one    :(

Depends on what I'm building and what I'm feeling like. My last TSR2 took a long time, the last couple of kits one complete and one at second stage painting have taken just over a week so far.

Try to identify if there is a stage where your models traditionally stall - for me its the PSR stage after main construction is complete.  I have to will myself on at this point, especially if the model needs a lot of filler.  I find once the final coat of primer is on its all downhill from there and models usually proceed quickly to the end (sometimes too quick!)

Hmm interesting, I did just that and found that for me it's right after the major paint work, sometimes even after the decals are on. Guess I loss interest with all the external fiddly bits. Or often I notice some flaw which now has to be corrected and I really can't be arsed.

Shortest build: one weekend (1/1200 USS New Jersey whiffed into a Camden police ship)

Longest build: I started a Revell 1/32 P-38 as a young teenager. I'm over 40 now, and it's still in the box.

But none of us will approach one fellow I met online: he finished a ship model in the late 1990s, that he started in 1937.

That's AD One thousand, nine hundred, thirty seven.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Yeah I started my 1/48 Tigercat in the last century too.

Come to think of it it was in the last millenium ;)

Ya know, I'm starting to get the same condition that a lot of you blokes here have, starting a kit before finishing my current one. AGHHHHHH!!!! I've got an A4 on th paint table and a Lightning on the workbench, BOTH of which I need to get finished by next week.

When not hindered by my work's unscheduled overflow into my personal life and/or real-life issues, I go like mad until I hit an obstacle I consider insurmountable.

Like making my own canopies.

Or molding then casting difficult stuff in resin.

Or, on complex 'bashes, I come to the sudden realization that the amount of planning involved has somehow expanded to the point where I need an entire team to help me figure it out.

A little tip that I've used in the past.  Set your PC wallpaper to be a really good picture of the subject you're modelling.  Every time you log on, you get inspired.
