With the decals on, out came the oil paints:






I mixed 50/50 paynes grey and lamp black oils for the topside and cut it with about 80% Humbrol thinners - a very refined enamel thinner, great for oil paints. For the underside I used just the paynes grey. Looking back with the benefit of 20-20 hindsight, I should have lightened the topside a wee bit more, looks a bit dark to me.
