just finished this one yesterday.

History:

In 1955, after some setbacks in the Korea conflict, the aeronavale decided to intensefy pilot training in order to prevent loses by inexperienced pilots. in 1956, they managed to get there hands on 2 Avia CS199 (2-seat bf-109). although they are not carrier capable, they were basicly used as lead trainers. decklandings were to be practiced once pilots have been transitioned to the hellcat. they were used for 2 years, as of 1958, the aeronavale decided that they were to old fassion for long-term use, and ordered the CM-175 zephyr instead.

Model:

the kit is a KP CS199 build straight from the box, the marking were leftovers from an heller F-8E crusader.

on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

That's nice stuff!

Considering the increadibly bad handling characteristics the S-199 series had in reality, I suppose anyone who survived their training in one could pretty much fly anything they wanted to afterward.

The Czechs called it the "Mule" which speaks volumes for its flying qualities.

Just as well it wasn't carrier capable, it was dangerous enough on dry land!

Didn't saw this one before! Very nice, it look like the Morane Saulniers MS-733 used in "real world".
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
