Airfix did a Comet 4 in 1/144th??

I'll join you in wanting a 1/72 or 1/48 Optica model

Beyond the Airfix 1/144 Comet 4, I seem to have some recollection of a 1/72 Vac form one too.

Airfix did a Comet 4B, which was a slightly different version to that in the picture, in that it had shortened wing tips without the tip tanks. You can get a set of replacement tips from TwoSix to make a 4C as illustrated.

The 1/72 vacform was by Airways, and I haven't seen it since the 80s

Gee, perhaps life can imitate art... anyone remember the old Chris Wren cartoon in Air International?  It showed two BOAC captains looking up at a Nimrod flying overhead.  One says to the other "Clean it up a bit and it'd make a nice airliner."



Perhaps at some point we'll be able to convert the forthcoming Airfix 1/72 Nimrod into a Comet 4C?  Wouldn't *that* be pretty??
