I am in thinking phase for this model.
Which role was it intended for?

Thanks.

Interceptor Carlos, very similar to Hunter but with transonic performance.  It was looked at as Hakwer were trying to push for a supersonic fighter.  As with the Hunter F.6, it may have been suited to the mud-moving role too, but this wasn't part of it's design role.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks Mossie
I would bet it was better suited for low level attack.

I think your right Carlos, like the Hunter F.6 it could have been easily modified into a dedicated ground attack variant like the FGA.9 & that delta would have suited it low down.

I've been thinking for a while about the P.1093, the blended arrowhead delta with nose intake, very sleek!  No Hunter kit though & I really shouldn't be adding to the stash, although I just couldn't keep my hands off a HobbyBoss P-40M this morning!

I'm a great fan of the P.1091 - lovely aircraft !!!

An amazing hybrid would be a 1090 / 1091 combo (1090.5   = Gyron / big intakes/ reheat + delta wing   ).
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

TSR Joe did one, usually to be seen in his SIG display
It's not an effing  jump jet.

re. the Hawker P.1091 'delta Hunter' development, i made a model of this one a few years back during my 'detailed phase' (all the lil vents and scoops cut out etc.!) i passed it along to an author friend a year or so back so no longer partv my collection, i should have a piccie of it somewhere which ill find and post up.

regarding modelling of the same, the P.1091 had a shorter fuselage compared to a standard Hunter, a RR. Avon reheat nozzle as per the Hunter Mk.3 and Fairey FD.3 Delta, a revised fin, as well as the Avro designed '707 type' thick delta wing, which i made from balsa covered in a styrene plasticard skin!

hoping this adds a lil more to the topic, cheers, Joe

Hi TsrJoe, and all of you:

What I am considering is not a copy of Hawker's project, but what I think it could be as a real plane:

I have 2 Airfix models.

I saw in Butler's book that the fuselage was shorter. I will extract a 1 cm size slice from this model that will be grafted in the other model; that in its turn will be a supersonic Hunter closer to P1083 than to P1090.

Tail fin will be only slightly modified.

Wings will come from a PM Mirage. Lots of work and PSR in this point.

Several hardpoints under wings and fuselage, like F-16XL, because mine will be an attack fighter.

I am still not sure about engine. Any sugestion?

Thanks! :)
