I raised this topic once, Hyper Etendard.

Apply modern technolgy to the design.
Modern materials, like carbon fibre reduce the structural weight.
Modern manufacturing techniques also reduce weight, and can strengthen the machine further.

Convert it to artificialy stabilised RSS, CCV. Applying the technology developed for the likes of the Mirage2000 will reduce weight by the removal of control linkages, while increasing all sorts of performance figures.

A change of engine is obvious, frankly even when the orriginal was produced, as a Avon would result in much higher performance even then. Now with a modern engine all sorts of potential can be realised.

AESA of course, and integration with MICA.

I'd cut one of the guns out too, to make more space for the electronics and fuel.
To win without fighting, that is the mastry of war.
