Here's my CollectAire XP-72 and Monogram/Koster XP-72 on the bench as of 11:30PM PDT last night. The 'bat is an ex air racer turned firebomber support aircraft and the XP-72 is the 56th FG B Michael Gladych's Pengie VI. Paint is Floquil crimson and the blue/black on the 'bolt is Floquil dark something blue mixed with Testors black. The center fuselage on the 'bat and the underside of the superjug will by Alclad NMF.

Both show great promise.   :)
How did you find the Collectaire kit as a build?
I've got some in the stash but am nearly petrified about building something in resin.
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

I took this one off a fellow modelers hands half built, at a greatly reduced price. Apparently, this particular kit was a real challenge, needing a ton of putty to fill gaps. He gave up because the panel lines all needed to be filled and rescribed. Too much work, so it's now mine. I'm not going to worry about the panel lines.
Collectaire kits, I'm told, are really good or are not. This particular one I would say was a rough build. I got it after all the hard work was done.
