Nice F-16XL, but he butchered an Academy 1/32nd kit PLUS resin bits to achieve it, and that's OK if you want to spend about £100+ on one model which is STILL innaccurate as the Ace kit has serious outline innaccuracies.
His model and if he's happy, then it's worth it, but not for me.
£100+...????

But this is the production version, you know, with all those airframe mods incorporated :)

Great effort on your F-16XL!

I still think it a pity that it never went into production and service, not in place of the F-15E, but in place of some of the F-16C/D`s. After all although designed as a light-weight dogfighter, the F-16 is used as a bomb truck by the USAF.

Your F-16XL (as a two-seater) would make for an interesting Wild Weasel SEAD aircraft, as an F-4G replacement!

Keep up the good work!

My thing is the nose chine/LEX thingies on the XL, I would think the production version would have a similar appearance to the baseline F-16 with regard to the blending in.

Note the difference, whenever I get around to building one I'm gonna try and blend that cobra hood in a bit more.

Not bashing the guy that built the kit as its spot on  :P , just pointing out a design feature.

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

For the amount of effort and money put into that project, it really looks good and it looks much better than the standard Yard Dart F-16.  Now if you want one to build the rather expensive resin version produced by Attic Models which can be won at auction on evilpaybay or now available for purchase from his web page.

While it may have the same accuracy issues as already brought up, it at least looks like an F-16XL and it is available in 1/48th scale as a single seat or two seat version.  To see the models in question go to this links:

F-16XL single seat version

F-16XL two seat version
