And some examples of aircraft models on the homemade tarmac c/w backdrop:

F-86D from the Secret Santa Group Build

Remember my P-51 Speedbuild?  Well, I now have decent pics of it, finally!

I swear, everytime I try to take a decent pic of this model, I've left the canopy sitting too high----with its aft pin out of the groove!   <_<

Fantastic stuff, Mr Howling Mouse!!! That new backdrop adds a lot to your pics. It's great to see that killer P-51 of yours again too.

Remember that MB-326 T-Tail Camo Version I made a few years ago with that wacky "Outhouse APU"???  Here they are in a better setting, finally:

Hey! Thats my idea!!!!

Great job on your backdrop and the painting of it, the models look much better with a base and backdrop.

Later this year I will get around to making another backdrop which I call the V3, my V3 will be more detailed than last years V2, I really enjoy painting these things!

Couple more subject shots (these were done indoors last night).

Old models, but What If's, nonetheless (markings are purely imaginary).

The backdrop rig is great, it may not be as fun as Zac's giant hand    but it sure does give you a nice seamless backdrop...color me impressed!

Fantastic! The backdrop makes those photos look so much better.
I like the way you've made it high enough that you can use it with or without the trees.

How did you create the backdrop? It looks like a painting?

How usable is it for different scales? Does it still work when the aircraft is 1/48 instead of 1/72? I guess moving the backdrop closer or farther away should be enough. The base may be more of a problem than the backdrop.

Brilliant-I wish I had the determination and skill to make a backdrop like that.

:o Fantastic JHM!

Great idea, looks effective.

Great models too, first time I've seen em!

Allthough your back-drop looks xlnt, here's another idea.

Nowadays it's not to expensive to get a picture printed on a canvas. A 350 x 500 mm size will run you about € 30:-

So all you gotta do is find a perfect view, snap a shot of it and have it printed.  :)

Now I'm shure there's more to it. A picture is probably too sharp and needs blured before printing and what-not. But you'll get the idea.

Do you paint, too???....like, in painting??? :P
