I received the magazine "aeroplane" today. I noticed an ad for the apparently "new" Airfix Spitfire Mk-1 in 1/48. It features the flat canopy of the original spitfires, and also 2 blade propellers.
Is this a new kit, or just a re-release? Any details about it yet?

Edit: seems their website is up again, and look at the picture!

It is, I believe, a new tool. AIUI, the kit was meant to be part of the 1/48th version of the '70th anniversary of the Spitfire' sets that were due out last year; the 72nd set made it out, but the 48th scale version didn't make it onto the shelves because of the financial problems.

neil Robinson did a review of it in MAM last year, seemed pretty positive about it IIRC.
It's not an effing  jump jet.

I'm not sure, but I heard it had enough parts to build any Mk I or Mk II version, from the early flat canopy with 2 bladed prop to later versions with blown canopies & with & without the armoured windscreen?

Is it an entirely new tool or a re-working of the Mk.V?  The Mk.IX released recentley was just this, & wasn't that well received.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
