Joe,

I've got a copy of an artist's concept of the "Avro Canada 'GOR.339' Arrow Development", it's done by Randall Whitcomb with considerable input from Jim Floyd.  I can pass it on if so desired.

Best,
Evan

id love to see what source material was used for Randall's artwork of the type as after lots of searching this side of the pond iv stil not found anything further on an Arrow proposal to GOR.339 other than his excellent book covering Avro Canada aerospace design?

bestest wishes, cheers, Joe

As far as I know, a lot of his primary source material was a lot of in depth discussion and interview with Jim Floyd.  If I can find where it's packed, I've got a compendium of Arrow info that someone in Canada collected and published privately (*chuckle* Ticked Randall off a bit, too, since I managed to grab the last copy one Canadian mail order store had :D).  The thing is, that set of goodies is packed away, still.

Guys, I've just got hold of a CF-105kit & I might well be interested in building this GOR.339 proposal.  Can you let me know what changes this proposal would have required to the basic Arrow airframe?

Simon.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Okay, it seems there's definitely interest here.   The main airframe changes are the back end changes for the Iroquois installation, the Fieri inlets of the Arrow Mk.3, and provisions for underwing drop tanks.

Edit: Please see follow message for Randall's concept pic.

Ah, no need for an email as I can attach pictures here.  So, without further comment, here's Randall's concept picture:

Thanks Evan, that's defintely do-able, not as many changes as I was expecting.

Found a similar pic while trawling the net that you both might be interested in:

Yep, actually, that's more like the Mk. IV as I don't think the original plan for the Mk.III included underwing tanks.  Between what I got from Randall and surfing, I've picked up a nice collection of Arrow pics.
