Looks like this will be my only entry into the Falklands GB, base kit is a Minicraft B-52H with the HDUs borrowed from a 1/100 F-16 kit & a few other bumps added. Somewhere up under those wings are a pair of AIM-9s and a ALQ-119.

The Camo is the closest match I could find to the BB Vulcans in Testores MM Acrylics. I goofed by putting US Dk. Green on, afterwards I relized that I had a bottle of RAF dk. Green! Weathering was done with a cheap acrylic black paint watered down & spread out, then sealed with rattle can dullcote. I think I overdid it, especiallyt the exhaust stains on the underside.

The AAR probe was ripped from a Airfix VC-10, the housing is a toothpick & some filler. All thats left to do is drop-in the front glass & shoot another round of dullcote.

Here's the build thread.

well done shas',

but what markings are you using on the nose and the tail? the nose one reminds me
for some reason of VF-114's aardvark markings....

Nice work, Shas! While the colors may not be 100% "accurate" it looks good to my eye! Well done!

I like the weathering...after all, a tanker flying all the way from England would have a s-load of exhaust staining!

Excellent Buff, Shas!

The camo is really reminiscent of a time long gone and remembered, when that Vulcan got to land in Brazil, after those long, long missions.

I wonder what everyone involved would have thought (felt?) if the silhouette of a Buff traversed the cloudy skies of the south-atlantic front.

Another good model that I've missed up to now, though ignoring the Falklands thread.   :dum:  Very convincing, and the colours look OK to me.

Plus the only time RAF aircraft get cleaned is when they go in for overhual and repaint, they like the idea of letting the dirt show so HM tax payer can see the RAF toys his/her hard earned cash has paid for is getting used.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

And the finish product!

Churchill KT.2

Note the Aardvark nose art

Note the twin AIM-9s and the ECM pod. Also the exhaust staining (which I think I went too far with   )
