QuoteBut then I saw reports and pictures of Azerbaijani MiG-29s. Not only did I actually have Azerbaijani markings on a just-purchased Linden Hill sheet for the L-39 Albatros, but the MiG-29s were painted in a three tone blue scheme almost identical to the scheme that I'd used for the MiG-AS.

This was clearly a Sign From God and so the North Korean decals were cast into the Outer Darkness and the Azerbaijani MiG-AS was born.
I like this model very much - and modelling is full of coincidences like this you know  :)
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

McGreig, those decals are the perfect finish! I find it interesting how the markings can totally complete a project. You're right, it seems like the model was made for them.

Great kitbash McGreig & great job on the paintwork.  Those Azerbaizjani decals contrast with the scheme well!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Lovely job McGreig! Those markings look great on the Mig.

Sharp looking model.
Now grab one of those other unbuilt kits and finish it.  Maybe you can get on a roll.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm very pleased with it myself, considering how little enthusiasm I had for it at one stage. I can still see things that I could do, such as adding air to air missiles or more stencil markings, but I'm happy with it the way it is so I'm quitting while I'm ahead.  ;)

Also, I've already posted the following on the Phoenix Build thread but, as not everyone reads the group builds, I'll say it again here:

Joining this forum has revitalised my enthusiasm for modelling, partly because of the inspiration provided by seeing other people's builds but also because of the positive feedback and suggestions provided by forum members. Thanks again

Awesome build! Its so small and "cute", yet so fierce looking.

Sorta like a rabid chihuahua or carnivorous bunny. :P

This just has to be the best description ever of any of my models
