QuoteIn Airwolf, there was often a lot of stock footage showing Soviet aircraft flying in formation, obvioulsy at an airshow.  I think it was usually MiG-21's, but occaisonally other types would creep in & they didn't always mention the right type (getting MiG-19's & MiG-21's mixed up & such).  Also, Airwolf was armed with most of the weapons then in the US inventory (not nessecarily suited to helicopters) & they weren't always used in the right manner, Sidewinders being fired at ground targets etc.  It always seemed to carry a lot more ordanance than it could fit in that fuselage & much larger stuff than could be fired from those tiny rocket tubes!

Still love it though!
They also used stock footage from two movies,"The Hunters" and "Skyjacked" for some of the earlier episodes enemy Migs. One of the worse things though is the T-38 with VTOL capabilities in the episode "Fortune Teller". They also used alot of Huges 500 helos for bad guys.

Not exactly an aviation movie, but in the 'Cypress' scene from Navy SEALs, you see a bunch of F-18s sporting USN mkgs but with Spanish Bort numbers, and in the background you can see a line-up of F-4s (I'm guessing Spanish as well)

In Behind Enemy Lines, they keep switching between the baby & super bug, plu during the cat shot I think there was a brief clip of an F-14.

Sometime in the late '40s, according to wikipedia, RKO studios and Howard Hughes wanted to make a movie about the 422nd Night Fighter Squadron. Unfortunately, there weren't very many P-61s still flying outside of alaska so they attempted to make due with a black C-82 Packet

Un/fortunately, that proved to be unacceptable so the movie was scrapped.

Just saw "Live Free or Die Hard", and the "F-35" was actualy based on the X-35C (you could even see the test a/c mkgs)!
