Braw!  

The B Mk2 was called a "Pathfinder" because it would have carried out target indication duties using 1000lb bombs (as in concentional bombs, not the "Target Marker Bomb" code-name for atomic bombs).  It would also have carried out Photo-recon duties.  The black paint was for night operations (no atomic bombs, so no anti-flash).  When the PR and TI roles were canned the single prototype was used for testing RATO etc.  

I think she also appeared at the end of "The Iron Maiden", wearing the nameplate of the ill-fated titular steam engine.

When I was a kid it was the Vulcan that got the press, the Victor had the exotic looks, and the Valiant was the forgotten one. But the more I look at it, and learn about it, the more I love it!  :wub:
