Folks:

Got a project in-mind to run alongside an operational TSR.2 (in an alternative history). So the question is, what was the projected timeline from first flight to operational squadron service ?? (i'm guessing 1968/69), but I'm certain there's folks here who know this stuff far better than I

I'm at work so I don't have my references to hand.  IIRC, the OCU (237?) was to form at Conningsby in May '68 so possibly late 68 or early 69 for in service.

Frank Barnet-Jones TSR2: Phoenix or Folly? has the projected timeline, plus the dates for projected first flights of various prototypes.

There's a "what answer would you like, Sir" here. OR.343, May,1959, sought operational Service from 12/65. Minister Healey offered to Geo.Edwards in March,1965, to buy 50 (for "East of Suez") if BAC would accept a ceiling price and price reduction for delay in Service entry beyond the financial year 1/4/68-31/3/69. Edwards very sensibly chose not to bankrupt BAC and declined. The planned date for the replacement 40 F-111K S.2 (after 10 as T.1) was deployment in FEAF during 1969.
