Hey all:

Just a heads up for you who do the WWII whiffs; RS Models of the Czech Republic just released two very nice kits of the ill fated Avia B.135 fighter. Only 12 of the type were ever made so the kit is full of whiff possibility.

Both kits have Luftwaffe examples, one has a Czechoslovak example on the decal sheet that actually has some victory markings on it. The other kit has an apparently real world Bulgarian option that flew against USAAF Liberators over Ploesti.

Here's a link to the RS site and some sprue shots of the Czechoslovak kit, which is the one I picked up today.

One think to their credit is that RS has supplied an injection canopy for this kit, any of their previous kits I've seen had vacformed ones.

Gotta get Maverick to make some profiles of this one, he seems to be on an Estonian kick these days and the B.135 might just look good in those markings.

Are you listening Mav? Huh, huh?

Wow, that's a cool looking airplane - it looks pre-whiffed! I see shapes from an Me-109, P-40, Spitfire, Hurricane and even a little bit of the Yak-3.

Actually, the prototype, the B.35 had a much more Spitfire like wing on it, a touch pointier on the tips, but still a nice elipse.

I was thinking about picking up another if I can find one and putting a three blade prop on and seeing what would be involved in cutting down the back for a bubble top variant.

Well I've built the B.35 as a Slovak machine - this will go very nicely with it and will fit into my Cold War 30's scenario - either Czech or Romanian

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
