... another from deep storage, was built over a decade ago (excuse the dust)... my impression of an Estonian Spitfire c.1939 ...

Supermarine Spitfire (Type 332) Mk.I, L1046, 1939

... Airfix Mk.1a kit, 'Blue Rider' Estonian decals (with white and blue areas overpainted) standard Dark Green/Dark Earth camouflage scheme with aluminium unders,  'L' series serial no L1046 on the tail fin

The Estonian order for 12 aircraft in Febuary 1939 was given the Type 332 allocation, and was to have been fitted with FN. guns, no aircraft were delivered the order being cancelled by HM. Goverment at that time altho it is noted 2 airframes were completed L1046/L1047 (one wonders if they got as far as marking up the aircraft?)

Other British types ordered at this time were the Vickers Wellesley, Westland Lysander and Bristol Blenhiem bomber as well as the Dutch twin tailled Fokker G.1 and Polish PZL.24 gull winged fighter

iv taken the liberty of adding John Lacey's (Maverick's) excellent Estonian Spitfire (and Blenhiem) profiles to add to the artwork of an Estonian Spit by Juka Koivusaari on the Ilmavoimat pages on my site ...

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Maverick

Looking good Joe!

It's surprising how different it looks as a model

That Spit looks awfully good in those markings....Nice job Joe.

Snap!  :D  This is my version of L1046, built years ago, in pre-airbrush days. It also uses the Airfix Spitfire and Blue Rider decals, but the underside is sky, not aluminium.

And, looking at your model and Mavericks's profiles, I don't understand why it never occurred to me to add rudder stripes  :dum:

Those are some really excellent looking Spitfires, gentlemen! They make me think not "What-If" but "Wish-It-Were".

Can anyone remember my Foreign Bf-109G/K profiles that appeared in What If? SIG MAG a few years ago?
Amongst the various numerous profiles was an Estonian K, possibly flown by an Estonian SS flight.
Must look it out.

Yes and I still have the mag
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
